Peter is a descendant of the Gamilaroi nation in northern New South Wales. In 2004 he was the winner of the inaugural wiseart best male indigenous artist. Peter began his art career through a desire to express and share the beauty of his culture. His paintings depict dreamtime stories and feature images of hunting scenes as well as Australia's unique native wildlife. He paints his striking and graphic imagery using traditional ochre colours on a range of materials including sandstone, marble, recycled timber and canvas.
