From a very young age, Kevin has been designing and crafting boomerangs, didgeridoos and other artifacts. His father and brother passed on to him the history and skills of the hunting and fishing tools and weapons, and Kevin, in turn, teaches the craft to children in his local area.
Kevin is dedicated to reviving interest in the culture and methods of his people. His commitment extends to travelling around Australia and working with unemployed youth, teaching them methods of art and craft for financial and cultural independence.
Born in Robinvale, from the Daddi Daddi, a river tribe, Kevin uses imagery full of marine life and the river. His dynamic designs are burnt in to the wood in the traditional style which dates back many generations. Wattle and malle wood suit the burnt inscriptions and lend a deep colour and fragrance to his didgeridoos and boomerangs.
