My name is Debra Beale and I am of the Yorta Yorta and Gamilaroi nations and grew up in Griffith NSW. I am 43 years and have three sons.
I was born in Sydney in 1964. My father is Frank Beale from the Gamilaroi Nation. My mother is Betty Cooper from the Yorta Yorta Nation who is now deceased.
I grew up in the Wiradjuri Nation, Griffith, New South Wales, Australia.
My artwork is my culture and I incorporate this art into contemporary art and design. My works reflect the diverse nature of my culture and the importance of being an Aboriginal Women in Australia.
I express in my work, issues that are important to me as being an Aboriginal women.
My work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions accross Australia as well as Milan, Italy.
